While wearing wigs can enhance your beauty and provide you with great convenience, the fact is that they require proper maintenance to prevent them from tangling. A wig full of tangles will look dull and unsightly and won't do your looks any good.
At Hair Factory Pro, we sell real hair wigs and we hope you feel 100% satisfied with your purchases in the weeks and years to come.
We've put together a list of common causes and recommended solutions to prevent excessive tangling in the first place. This list will help you understand how to maintain your wig so that these problems do not arise, or, if they do arise, you will be better equipped to solve them.
Reasons your wig tangle?
1. You're wearing a poor quality wig
It's best to focus on the quality of the wig and hair. You can't buy cheap wigs and assume you can get a lot of wear and tear before it starts tangling and ends up tangling. Poor quality human hair wigs can be over processed, which can cause it to become tangy and fluffy when first exposed to water, heat, and even weather conditions. Extra thick, curly human hair wigs are more prone to drying, damage and tangles.
Hair Factory Pro Human hair wigs are made from 100% human hair and are absolutely smooth from start to finish, not tangling, not falling off, and shiny in any view.
2. You are washing your wig aggressively
One of the main factors that can make your wigs tangle easily is to actively wash them. It is not recommended to scrub and rub the wig while washing it. You should wash your wig gently. Vigorously washing the wig may tear the cap apart and pull out the strands in the opposite direction, causing tangles. When the strands don't go in the right direction, your wig is more likely to tangle. So it's time to rethink how you wash your wigs.
3. Not using the right shampoo and conditioner when washing wigs
When washing wigs, you need to use shampoo specially made for wigs. Our scalp usually produces natural oils that keep our natural hair moist. These oils moisturize and protect our hair, which is why human shampoos and conditioners don't usually need to be formulated with these oils.
On the other hand, wigs themselves don't moisturize naturally. This is why you need to use cleaning products designed specifically for wigs, as they will provide moisture to your wig. Not using these products can result in a dry, dull wig. When this happens, the wig tangles.
4. Changes in temperature and wardrobe
With each passing year, as the temperature drops, the hair becomes more and more tangled. Winter comes with higher necklines, heavier coats and collars, and warm scarves, so most tangles occur around the nape of the neck. This can lead to tangles, as hair is more likely to get caught in clothing or rub to create friction and knots.
How to avoid your wig from becoming tangled?
1. Brush your wig regularly
One of the easiest ways to prevent a wig from tangling is to brush it so you never go wrong. However, be careful when combing your hair, as doing so incorrectly may damage your wig. First, use a wide-toothed comb or stiff brush to gently comb the tangles. If you wish, you can use a specially designed wig comb or brush. Gently brush the V-shaped part of your wig from the end, then work your way up. Doing so will prevent split ends and stop your wig from tangling and falling out. In addition, your human hair wig should be combed while dry.
2. Wash wigs regularly
One of the best ways to keep your wig untangled is to wash it regularly. Wash the wig with cool to warm water. Start at the top and work your way down. Don't forget to clean the inside of the headgear. Use a regular but good quality non-alcoholic shampoo or a special wig care product. Gently pat your hair with a soft towel to remove excess water. Don't rub too hard. Finally, gently comb with a wide-toothed comb and air dry.
3. Avoid sleeping in wigs.
It's usually a good idea to avoid sleeping with a wig on. This is because contact between the wig and the pillow can cause the wig to tangle. So try to take off your wig when you go to sleep. If you must wear a wig to sleep, you need cover your head with a satin or silk scarf. Or you can buy a satin pillowcase.
4. Use Hot Tools Less
If you've been blow-drying, straightening, or curling your human hair wig, imagine how much heat your bundle is exposed to! This inevitably leads to dry, dull hair that breaks easily, and dry hair is more likely to tangle. If you cannot do without hot tools, we recommend that you use hot tools at least in medium and low temperature environment, and always use a heat protectant before styling.
